2023 WSCW Prize-Givings – Congratulations & Thank You!

A big CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU to all those involved with our end-of-year Prize-Givings for 2023, which we held across Weeks 2 and 3 of Term 4:

Thursday 19th October 2023 – Pasifika Prize-Giving
Friday 20th October 2023 – Sports Prize-Giving
Wednesday 25th October 2023 – Year 13 Leavers Event & Year 13 Prize-Giving
Thursday 26th October 2023 – Year 12 Prize-Giving
Friday 27th October 2023 – Year 11 Prize-Giving

The Top Special Prizes awarded to Year 13 students, whose names will go onto our Honours Boards in the school Hall are:

• Our Top Academic Award – The Hicks Prize for Dux of Western Springs College – was presented to Arushi Gupta.
• The O’Keefe Scholarship for Year 13 Overall Merit & Runner-Up to Dux was presented to Amelie Fairclough.
• The Grant Mackie Caring Award was presented to Bezawit Habtemariam.
• The Mission Statement Award for All Round Excellence was presented to Oliver Burton.
• The Year 13 Sportsman of the Year was presented to Sam Kenny.
• The Year 13 Sportswoman of the Year was presented to Amelie Fairclough.
• The Ngā Oho Award for Contribution to Ngā Puna O Waiōrea was jointly presented to Nikau Balme & Billy McCarthy.
• Valedictorians for 2023 were Sam Marsh (WSC), Christina Maea-Brown (WSC) and Elias Ashby (NPoW).

We wish all our departing students all the very best for their exams and life outside of Western Springs College-Ngā Puna o Waiōrea!
