The Digiwise panel is a student/ākonga group responsible for promoting digital safety and responsibility in online spaces. They also spread the word about the best way for students to use the digital tools we have available at Western Springs College – Ngā Puna O Waiōrea.

This year the school has a focus on the guidelines around student/ākonga use of AI – our student/ākonga guidelines and our AI traffic light system explain to the students/ākonga what they may and may not do with AI when completing assessment tasks. You can read more about that here.

Recently Digiwise held a Bake Sale to raise awareness of the AI traffic light system and to raise money for our Student Laptop Scheme, which provides laptops for students/ākonga who cannot afford to purchase their own. They raised $327.60 towards a laptop and were able to clarify questions and spread the word on the AI traffic light system to a large number of students.
