Western Springs College (WSC) – election process
We have received 7 eligible applications for the 3 parent-elected positions on the Board for the English medium pathway are up for election in this round.
We will soon hold a ‘Meet the Candidates’ event (likely last week of August), with an option to join online, so that you can meet and hear from the candidates before you cast your vote. Whānau will be notified by email when the details of this event are confirmed.
You can cast your vote any time up to 4pm on Wednesday 10 September.
How the online voting for WSC will work:
1. An Invitation to Vote email will be sent on Wednesday 13 August 2025. This email contains a link to the MySchoolElection website together with a voter’s unique user code. Input the user code into the website. [A reminder Invitation to Vote email will be sent at the end of August: however, if you have already voted the user code will have been deactivated preventing double voting.]
2. Inputting the user code into the website link activates the listed mobile phone of the voter. A text is sent to the voter’s listed mobile number containing a verification code that is to be input to verify the voter.
3. Upon verification you are then taken to a page with information about the candidates. At this point, you can either go to next page to vote, or stop until you decide to vote at a later time (if you stop, you need to go through steps 1 and 2 again).
4. The next page is the voting page, and you choose the candidates you wish to vote for.
5. The next page you are asked to verify that these are the candidates you are voting for (you cannot vote for more candidates than positions).
6. The final page confirms you have voted and gives a reference number that a vote has been caste. The reference number is not linked to the voter but only to the vote to maintain the secrecy of the ballot. [Note: If a voter requests the returning officer to check if a voter’s reference number is recorded, the returning officer can only verify the vote has been recorded but does not have access to the candidates the voter has chosen.]
Once you have voted, the voter’s unique user code is deactivated and can not be used again by anyone.
Successful candidates will be notified on 16 September and our school community advised of the new Board members.
The first meeting of the Board with its new members is on Monday 20 October.
