As our summer sporting season draws to a close even though our ‘endless summer’ keeps…

In Week 7, our Art History and senior painting students visited Olafur Eliasson’s fantastic exhibition ‘Your Curious Journey’ at Toi Tāmaki. Year 13 Art History students were selecting a work from this exhibition to focus on for their internal task that explores media and processes in contemporary art, whilst year 12 Art History students were lucky to see three of their course artists – Cezanne, Monet and Gauguin – represented in the Robertson Gift Collection.
As always, we’re exceptionally proud of how our ākonga engage with public spaces, artworks and one another when out-and-about on trips, and ever grateful to Auckland Art Gallery for their explorative educational resources and accommodation of large groups of curious learners.

As we head towards the end of term it’s marvellous to see Art students connected to their work and well on the way to producing outcomes that they are proud of. We encourage all students over the holidays to use time at home to extend learning and review where they are at with all aspects of coursework.
