Encouraging collaboration in maths classes

To encourage collaboration between students in our year 9 maths classes, the maths department elected to participate in a collaborative activity with escaping a digital escape room as the theme. Designed by the Collaborative pedagogies WSC team, the task encourages students to see the positives of sharing ideas, understand the perspectives of others while completing tasks in an attempt to escape a digital escape room. We as a department hope to build on the positive experience from this activity and continue to encourage collaboration between our students in their day to day classwork and projects.
