In loving memory of Melanie (Mel) Webber

11 April 1975 – 9th April 2025 (age 49)

Mel joined the staff of Western Springs College Ngā Puna o Waiōrea in 2009 as a teacher of Media Studies and English.

She was appointed as Head of Atea House in 2011.

In 2020 Mel was elected as National President of the Post Primary Teachers’ Association (PPTA).

In 2023 Mel handed the Presidency over to the Junior Vice President because of a health diagnosis that would distract her from the role of President.

A heroic journey with cancer ended for Mel in April this year.

A teacher, staff member, colleague, friend and an educational leader, missed but never forgotten.
