It is with the deepest sadness & regret that I am informing you of the passing of past Waiōrea Kaiako and Ākonga Whaea Tere Tamarua.

Moe mai rā e te Tuahine Mareikura i to moengaroa. Moe mai rā koe i roto i te Ariki! Waiho matou i muri nei tangi hotuhotu ai! He arohanui ki te whanau Kiri Mate i tenei wa pouri rawa.

Whaea Tere will be welcomed onto the marae before moving to the Whare Tapere (Te Rehu) to lie in state for the duration of Tuesday 26th August 2025 (day & night). All are welcomed to an open service in Te Rehu on this day, beginning at 6pm.

On Wednesday August 27th, there will be a final service at 10.00am with Whaea Tere departing Ngā Puna o Waiōrea between 11.15 and 11.30am for her final journey to Mangere Lawn Cemetery for burial, followed by hakari back at Te Rehu at 3.00pm.
