Principal’s Notes – Dec 2024

What a pleasure it has been to witness the roll call of prizewinners walking across the stage to receive recognition for their outstanding work throughout the year.

From the Year 13 Leaver’s awards and special prizes, through to the Year 12, Year 11, Year 9 and 10 (combined); the Sports Awards; the Pasifika Prizegiving event and the Waiōrea Prizegiving, I was struck by the confidence of our presenters, the quality of our prizewinners work and the recognition of application and progress as well as overall achievement. Well done to you all!

As I write this, summer certainly seems to have arrived. As I said in my Junior Prizegiving address: “students, as you leave here today, think of how lucky you are to be a young New Zealander enjoying the delights of a long summer holiday. Do take the time to be a kiwi kid in paradise. Enjoy the golden weather and long may it last!”

A reminder too that Springs/Waiōrea is closed from Wednesday, December 18th 2024 to Monday, 20th January 2025. The school offices will open on Wednesday, 22nd January 2025.
