Rugby update – First XV

We went down 26-0 but it was closer than that. We had an awesome try from our fullback Ollie, disallowed – which was a 50/50 call that the boys thought should have gone our way.  There was one try for the opposition that was definitely a knock-on, but that’s how it goes. So it probably should have been more like 21-7.

We had 5 subs which was great, our defense was excellent and our attack was good too. Structures are all there, we just have to tighten up our ruck defense, attempt more jackaling of opposition rucks and add some variation to the backline moves as we got a little predictable on attack. We’ll work on this at training this week as well as continued strength and conditioning.

All in all a great first hit-out and was well attended by parents and other supporters so I am very happy (as are the boys by all accounts) with our first game.
