Safety at the School Gate

Springs – Waiōrea are experiencing ongoing challenges with driving behaviour at the beginning and end of school.  We are partnering with Auckland Transport to help us improve the safety at the gate from the beginning of term 3.  This means dedicated parking enforcement officers will be at the school on random days from the beginning of term three.

Please encourage your student/s to use sustainable travel to and from school i.e. public transport, biking or walking.

Students get concession rates when riding public transport (approximately 40% off fares).
Concession information for 16-19 year olds: Secondary concession for students 16 to 19
Concession information for age 5-15 year olds: Child fares for passengers 5 to 15

If you are driving your student to school please set up a pick up and drop off point away from the school.  The Zoo/Council carpark is very congested and it takes long time to exit after school. A quick walk down the road to a pick up point could be better.
