Five weeks into the term and the school is abuzz with activity. It is wonderful…

We had a wonderful day at The SGCNZ University of Victoria Regional Shakespeare Festival hosted by Kristin College at the end of Term 1. Our students were, as always, polite, courteous and extremely well behaved. They garnered the following awards:
Most Promising Actor:
Ivy Foster (as Hero in Much Ado About Nothing)
Best Student Directors:
Lola McPhail & Olive Beran-Wright (with a compilation of Lady Macbeth and the Witches from Macbeth)
Special Assessors’ Award:
Joe Fahey, Angus Fraser, Gabriella Lamontanaro, Roman Pashkov, Hannah Patterson, Veanna Barnes and Harry Shanks (as the loopy mechanicals in A Midsummer Night’s Dream)
Best Connection between Two Actors:
Christie Blair and Teina Pecotic (as Hamlet and Ophelia in Hamlet)
Direct Entry to NSSP (National Schools’ Shakespeare Production):
Christie Blair
– this means Christie will have the opportunity to go to the Globe Theatre in London in 2026 as Addi Pritchard-Matagi is doing this year as part of The Young Shakespeare Company)
