Start of Term 1, 2025 – some key dates

Kia ora to all our Springs-Waiōrea (WSCW) whānau, below are our key dates & events for first 4 weeks of Term 1, 2025.

Mon 20 Jan 2025 – Timetables will be available on the school portal from this date. Login and password reminders will be sent to all whānau at the beginning of the week. All students MUST log in and check their timetables before Mon 3 Feb 2025.
Weds 22 Jan 2025 – WSC & NPoW Offices reopen

Weds 29 Jan 2025 – NPoW pōwhiri and Tuakana training. NPoW ākonga return at 9am (dismissed at 12:30pm). New NPoW Year 9s will attend their pōwhiri at 9.45am.
All WSC Year 13s must attend school from 12:00noon to 2:30pm (assemble in the Gym).

Thurs 30 Jan 2025 – WSC pōwhiri (for WSC Year 9 students, and all new WSC students in Years 10 to 12) and Tuakana-Teina Day #1. Our new WSC students should assemble at the school gates at 9.45am with their whānau, and they will be dismissed at 2.30pm.
Year 13 NPoW ākonga and all new NPoW ākonga (Years 9 to 13) attend kura.
All WSC Year 13s are required at school by 9.45am (meet on the cafeteria deck). They will be dismissed at 2pm.

Monday 3 Feb 2025 – All students (Years 9 to 13) return to school. NPoW ākonga have karakia at 8.47am and all WSC students are required to be onsite by 8.50am for a 9am start. Students will head straight to their whānau class before their period 1 classes, which will start at 9.25am. Students will be dismissed at 3:10pm.
Thursday 6 Feb 2025 – Waitangi Day observed (school closed)
Friday 7 Feb 2025 – School closed (Board-approved Waitangi long weekend)

Tues 11 Feb 2025 – PhotoLife Student ID Photos – WSC Year 10s, Year 12s and Oranga Juniors.
Weds 12 Feb 2025 – PhotoLife Student ID Photos – WSC Year 9s, Year 11s and Year 13s
Weds 12 Feb 2025 – New Families BBQ (5:30pm start)
Thurs 13 Feb 2025 – WSCW Athletics Day (rain date – Fri 14 Feb 2025).

Term 1 (11 weeks) – starts Tues 28 Jan 2025 (Teacher Only Day); ends Fri 11 Apr 2025
Term 2 (9 weeks) – starts Mon 28 Apr 2025; ends Fri 27 Jun 2025
Term 3 (10 weeks) – starts Mon 14 Jul 2025; ends Fri 19 Sep 2025
Term 4 (10 weeks) – starts Mon 6 Oct 2025; ends Tues 9 Dec 2025.
