Weeding Bee at the Awa

The Second Sunday Weeders come to WSCW on the last Sunday of the term break.  They smashed out a huge amount of mahi down at the awa, including removing a large number of privet sapplings so that sun is now coming into the outdoor classroom and weed releasing all our new plants.  The Selwyn Greens, from Selwyn Village, then arrived with a wonderful morning tea (they support sustainable inititatives around the community with good old fashioned food).  Big thanks to Damien Hannah and Urban Ark for organising the event to all the people that gave up their time to help us out.

The Second Sunday Weeders are a Point Chev volunteer weeding group that work with Urban Ark and make a difference at a number of parks around the area.
