The Western Springs College–Ngā Puna O Waiōrea School Board is seeking expressions of interest from a suitably experienced person to join the Board as a co-opted member, with a focus on property and infrastructure. This is a governance role rather than an operational project-management position. The successful person will provide informed challenge, monitor delivery and risk, and work collaboratively with the Board, school leadership, the Ministry of Education, and the wider school community.
We have a vacancy on the Board due to a Board member stepping down. This co-opted position on the Board would continue until the next election cycle, which is scheduled for March 2027.
The school has a large and complex property portfolio, including long-term master planning, major development and renewal projects, building defects, and temporary and prefabricated facilities. We are looking for someone who can strengthen the board’s oversight of this work and help ensure projects and outstanding issues are progressed effectively.
Relevant experience may include:
- property development, construction, engineering, or asset management;
- major project or programme governance;
- procurement, contracts, warranties, and contractor performance;
- building remediation, compliance, and health and safety; or
- working with public-sector agencies and professional advisers.
If you’re interested in the role and would like to find out more information, please signal your interest to Alicia Murray at chair@wsc.school.nz
