Auckland College Sport, Intercollegiate Swimming – Individual Swimming Championships 2020
Sunday 9th August, Western Springs College entered a group of students to compete at the Secondary Schools’ Individual Swimming Championships which was held at the West Wave Aquatic Centre:
Tobias Beaumont:
Intermediate Boys 100m Breastroke, 100m Freestyle and the 50m Freestyle
Koen Dettling:
Open Boys 400m Freestyle
Junior Boys 100m Butterfly, 100m Freestyle and the 200m Freestyle
Sam Kenny:
Intermediate Boys 100m Butterfly, 100m Individual Medley, 200m Individual Medley and the 200m Butterfly
Sam Kenny: 3rd place – Int Boys’ 100m Butterfly & 200m Individual Medley
Abigail Sharp:
Junior Girls 100m Breastroke, 200m Breastroke, 100m Individual Medley and the 100m Backstroke

Tess Whineray:
Intermediate Girls 100m Backstroke, 200m Backstroke and the 50m Freestyle
Tess Whineray: 3rd place – Int Girls’ 50m Freestyle
It was a very successful meet with Tess Whineray placing in all three of her events: 1st place in the Intermediate Girls 100m Backstroke, 1st place in the Intermediate Girls 200m Backstroke and 3rd place in the Intermediate Girls 50m Freestyle.
Tess Whineray: 1st place – Int Girls 100m Backstroke & 200m Backstroke
Sam Kenny placing in two out of the four events entered, 3rd place in the Intermediate Boys 100m Butterfly and 3rd place in the Intermediate Boys 200m Individual Medley.
