On the 31st of March, the Healthwise leaders had organized a karaoke session at lunch. Teachers sang their favorite songs, and there were even duets with students! Mr Dan started off the lunch with a metal rock song. A duet occurred shortly after with Ms Wong and Henri Woodley (student), who sang ‘Stand by me’ by Ben E King. Following that, Cade performed Nancy Sinantra’s legendary “These boots are made for walkin’. Kenton Cochrane and Amy Archer, two students, then sang their chosen songs of “I love you baby” and “Bad Romance”. Mr Allen and Henri Woodley did a duet that finished the session with a bang, singing ‘Adventure of a lifetime’ by Coldplay and ‘Superstition’ by Stevie Wonder.
This was a wonderful opportunity to lift the spirits of all students who watched along. Healthwise and Peace Ambassadors were able to raise $204 for the NZ RedCross Disaster Fund, which helps families impacted by Cyclone Gabriel.
