FURTHER DETAILS
Legislation allows for two paid union meetings per year during working hours.
Western Springs College Ngā Puna o Waiōrea staff who are members of PPTA are required to attend this scheduled Paid Union Meeting (PUM). Because most of the staff at the school are members of PPTA I will be unable to operate the normal school timetable for the whole day.
The timetable will be reduced to the first two periods (90 minutes each) of our usual Thursday schedule with a 30 minute interval between periods 1 and 2 as usual. There will be no whānau class at 12.30pm.
Students will be dismissed for the day at 12.30 pm and the PUM will begin on-site at 1.00pm.
Our regular school bus service is not able to be rescheduled to transport students home at 12.30pm. Scheduled bus services from Great North Road are recommended for these students.
If these arrangements are not convenient for you and you require your child to be supervised at school for the afternoon, please notify the school office. This supervision will be managed by teachers at the school who are not members of the PPTA.
Ngā mihi,
Ivan Davis
Principal
