We have had an exciting start to the year with the opening of our second…

Here at Western Springs College – Ngā Puna o Waiōrea we use devices and digital tools to support our learning and life at school. All new students underwent a digital orientation to help them get started with using their devices at school, and the tools/websites/systems we use here.
Google Classroom is our online learning platform and all students will have a class for each subject they take where their teachers/kaiako share resources, set assignments and more.
Caregivers and whānau can receive weekly updates by email about their child’s progress and work. If your child is new to the school you should receive an email invitation which you will need to accept to receive these updates. If your child is not new but you do not currently receive the updates please contact their whānau teacher to get your invitation. The invitation will come from “Google Classroom” so also check your spam folder in case it has filtered to there.
The digital world is a big part of our lives now so we will continue to support our students in developing their understanding of it and how to use digital tools safely both in and out of school. If you would like more information or support yourselves, netsafe.org.nz is a great website that offers information and guidance, plus live support for any questions or concerns.
