In order to support students/ākonga prepare for the Literacy and Numeracy Common Assessment Activities (CAA)…

With the new school year being a shock for everyone, in terms of having to wake up earlier, we recently ran a competition on Instagram to find out what our students/ākonga find most useful for getting them to school on time.
We had some great tips and tricks come through. Some of our favourites that are worth sharing:
Walk the route a few times and time it to see the average of how long it takes you to get there
Keep an eye on the AT app if you’re catching the bus in case your bus is delayed or cancelled
Take the bus before the one that gets you there just in time
Set two alarms to get up and one for 5 mins before you have to leave
Get to bed at a reasonable time – have a healthy sleep schedule
Set up a routine, post it, stick to it!
Get organised the night before – make your lunch, choose your clothes etc
Calculate when you need to get up
Put your phone in another room when you go to bed
Meet up with friends!
Follow the 8 hour rule – 8 hours work, 8 hours play, 8 hours sleep!
We drew a winner out of the hat and Year 11 Avery Beuth was the lucky recipient of a canteen voucher. Here’s to getting to school on time!
