When the Covid Pandemic happened in 2020, the closure of our borders meant that overseas travel stopped. After all these years of not being able to expand our wings, we are super excited to announce to our school community that our EOTC Overseas trip is back and is happening now!!! Our first post-Covid trip – to Taiwan – from Tuesday 19th September through to Sunday 1st October!!!

By the time this newsletter goes out to our school community, a group of Year 13 students, Ms Margaret Ruland (teacher) and myself are travelling somewhere in Taiwan. This special trip was exclusively offered to the Year 13 students who are taking Chinese language this year.

Why is it so special?

The students in Year 13 Chinese have been doing Chinese for 5 years, so the trip is like a graduation trip to celebrate their 5 years of secondary schooling, also to celebrate their long journey of learning Chinese; to provide the opportunity for them to embrace the Chinese culture and the language in Taiwan, and to experience the Taiwanese culture. They can also put their 5 years of learning the Chinese language into practice in an authentic environment, as well as broaden their horizons. Amongst the students going, we have students who are travelling overseas for the very first time. This definitely will be an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
