As of the end of Term , we sadly have to say good-bye to five of our international students, who are going to return to their home countries.  We had a farewell lunch at the international office together and looked back at their days at Western Springs College and in New Zealand.  It has been amazing to see them grow as people through their experiences here.  We wish them all the best in their future endeavours.

Here is some feedback on the experience at Western Springs College from Emily Hinke (the second from right) and Alexandra Schweitzer (the second from left).

Emily Hinke from Germany

What are your favourite subjects at Western Springs College and why?

I really like Dance and Drama because it’s fun and you can’t do them in my country.  I also like PE because you don’t just do practical.

Do you have anything you particularly enjoyed at Western Springs College?

Yes.  We did a lot of trips and camps for my different subjects and the teachers are all very nice.

What did you enjoy most during your time in New Zealand?  Please provide the top three in your list.

I loved to travel through NZ with my friends and later on with my caregiver and my mum.  Also, I enjoyed my time at WSC which is like a second home for me.  I enjoyed meeting with friends and spending time with my caregiver the most.

In what areas do you think the International Office or WSC staff should improve to help you and other international students more?

I think the international office and the WSC staff are doing a great job.
