Senior classes in Media, English and Economics were treated to a thought provoking presentation by Damaso Reyes, an award winning photographer and news journalist.

“Don’t get tricked by online information.  Think before you share or like.”

The News Literacy Project was founded by Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Alan Miller. Damaso spoke about the need to be a discerning consumer of news messages, images and stories.  News literacy also helps young people use the aspirational standards of quality journalism to determine what they should trust, share and act on.

Damaso travelled to New Zealand courtesy of the US Consulate and is currently travelling throughout NZ..
