Matilda will be competing in the Nationals in October. We wish her well!

Winter Tournament Week Wrap-Up

Five teams. Three codes. One massive week of competition. What a week of sport for WSCW!

From 29th August – 5th September, five of our teams competed across three sporting codes as part of the 2026 Winter Tournament Week.

A huge congratulations to all of our athletes who represented WSCW across Basketball, Football and Netball. Throughout the week, our students produced some fantastic performances, faced plenty of tough competition and represented the school with pride both on and off the court/field.

Our final results:
🏀Basketball U19 Girls – 6th at the Northern Regional Cup
🏀 Basketball U19 Prem Boys – 18th at the AA Premiership
⚽️ Football 1st XI Girls – 6th in the Kathy Seaward competition
⚽️ Football 1st XI Boys – 12th in the Rex Dawkins Competition
🏐 Premier Netball – 14th in Grade B at UNISS.

We are incredibly proud of the effort, teamwork and commitment shown by all of our athletes. There were many great moments to celebrate throughout the week, it was fantastic to see our teams continue to work together and compete right through to their final games.

Tournament Week is also a huge commitment for everyone working behind the scenes. A massive thank you goes to all our coaches, managers and parents who gave their time and energy to support our athletes throughout the week. Your contribution plays an important part in making these opportunities possible for our students, and it certainly does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

While Tournament week may be over for 2026, WSCW Sports is already looking ahead. We are continuing to explore how we can develop our performance teams, strengthen pathways and create further opportunities for our athletes to pursue higher honours and national qualification in the future.

Congratulations to everyone involved in an awesome week of competition. You represented WSCW with pride and made us all proud!
