We are seeking a friendly, organised & creative person to join our school in a part-time, fixed term position (6 hours per week; term-time only) as a Technician for our Dance, Drama & Performing Arts Technology (PAT) Departments at Western Springs College-Ngā Puna o Waiōrea.
Ideally, the successful applicant could start as soon as possible in Term 1, 2025 and this role will continue for the 2025 school year (i.e. ending on Tuesday 9 December) as a trial project.
KEY TASKS
Equipment sourced, maintained, repaired and stored
- Drama and Dance costumes sewn, sourced, laundered, repaired, labelled and put away.
- Costumes collected from off-site storage.
- Set & props retrieved, repaired and put away/dismantled.
Administration
- Managing rehearsal & production schedules for co-curricular and the 6 annual Dance and Drama shows.
- Data entry for festivals/competitions (e.g. Sheilah Winn, YouDance).
- Cataloguing audio-visual material from shows.
- Coordinating volunteers for shows & trips (e.g. parents, teachers and Parent Action Group [PAG]).
Marketing
- Use of social media & other platforms to promote Dance & Drama activities within and beyond the school community.
OTHER KEY INFORMATION
- Applicants should have a clean NZ Driver’s Licence, and appointment is subject to a satisfactory Police vetting application & safety check.
- WSCW is a Living Wage employer, and the terms & conditions of employment are in accordance with the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement. The pay range will be $27.80 (Living Wage rate) to $29.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- You must be eligible to work in Aotearoa New Zealand, and appointment is subject to a satisfactory Police vetting application and safety check.
