In a proud and historic moment, Aotearoa New Zealand has reclaimed the Guinness World Record…
Extended Greetings from Rangitoto,
Despite the disruptive start to the year, it has been a whirlwind of activity as students have settled into the first term – introducing them to the new programmes and upcoming challenges for the year.
On the subject of ‘new’ the department is very pleased to have Sophie Bannan join us in a part time role; teaching Art and Art History while Kirsty Britton is currently on maternity leave. Congratulations to Kirsty and Richard on the new edition to their family; Rose Isla – we look forward to welcoming her into the Arty family soon.
In regards to student success – we had four students gaining Scholarship in Art Design last year. Well done to Sonny Frizzell, Jackie Lourens, Jasmine James with Hannah Chung awarded the higher grade of Outstanding Scholarship. In addition, Hannah recently attended the Visual Arts Awards at the ARA LODGE to receive a $1500 scholarship which will assist her further studies at university. Finally, a fee reminder to parents and guardians about the payment of Art fees for Y10-13. Our ability to provide a range of technical and specialised resources throughout the year is dependent on your continued support.
Thanks in advance. Ia Manuia
