The New Zealand Game Developers Conference (NZGDC) is New Zealand’s premier event for game development, and this year, a dedicated High School Pass for $200 plus GST per student is being offered to our school.

The conference runs from 1 to 3 October (during the school holidays) giving students full access to the Kiwi Games Zone, Conference talks, and panels, all without clashing with term time.

What is in it for students?

Students will learn how games are made, hear directly from the people who make them, and discover the opportunities open to them in the NZ games industry.

The NZGDC speaker lineup includes people from some of the biggest studios in New Zealand and around the world: Iron Gate Studios (Valheim), Supercell (Clash of Clans), Insomniac Games (Spider-Man), Grinding Gear Games (Path of Exile), and PikPok (Into the Dead). Technical specialists from Epic Games, Unity, and Nintendo will also be taking the stage.

Talks and panels span game design, programming, art, story and narrative, and production. Whether a student wants to build games or work at a studio, there is something here for them.

As an added extra, the pass also includes entry to the Extra Lives Performance at 3pm on Saturday 3 October, an interactive video game concert where a live band scores the action in real time while the audience controls the story. Every show is different, and this one is theirs.

Please note the High School Pass does not include access to the NZGDC Social Events.

Full information on the conference can be found at www.nzgdc.com and these special High School Passes are limited and available from https://au.entegy.events/HS-student
