Te Ahurea Tino Rangatiratanga is a significant Māori Performing Arts event for Auckland Secondary Schools.…
Congratulations to all past and present kaiako and ākonga who took part in various rōpū at Te Matatini this year.
Ngā Puna o Waiōrea was well represented in Angitū by sixteen Alumni Waiōrea students, former kaiako and a current student. Tianara (General) Wihongi and Norbyn Vaiula served as the manukura tāne and manukura wahine.
Angitū promotes inclusivity and allows members to be their authentic selves. Tūhoe Tamaiparea (past ākonga and kaiako) and Pere Wihongi (past kapa haka kaiako) fulfilled a long term dream standing in the poi line alongside their female team mates.
Angitū were rewarded with first equal placing in the poi and whakaeke, second equal in both Kākahu and Haka and third equal place overall!
Ngā mihi nui!
