The 12 students who performed at YouDance Festival received positive feedback on their choreography from dance professionals who attended the shows. Jack Gray, Artistic Director of Atamira Dance Company, ‘Isope Akau’ola (dancer with The New Zealand Dance Company) and Tor Columbus (former Artistic Director of NZDC and lecturer at the NZ School of Dance) noted students’ use of imaginative beginnings and endings, clear communication of ideas, and interesting use of music.

Satisfying to see your choreographic material connect to your music.” “Good choreographic ideas and such a diverse landscape.” “An intriguing ending.” “A lovely opening, the small movement gesture of the hand pulled the audience in. It was satisfying to see you accumulate and spread this movement through the group in different ways. “Awesome use of different facings and images.” “The section when you come together like a machine is fantastic. I loved how you explored the material and how it connected to your theme.”
