Many thanks  to our wonderful teaching staff & ILAs who have supported our students during the current Omicron outbreak via hybrid learning. Hybrid learning means students have been able to continue learning whether they are at school or at home. This approach has necessitated upskilling and consolidating of digital skills and online teaching and learning methods. Our staff have risen to this challenge with grace & professionalism.

Digiwise

A student led group, the digiwise team are promoting the safe & responsible use of the internet and social media. They will also be educating students on the correct use of digital devices at school. Shortly the group and other interested students will be receiving peer mentoring training with Netsafe’s Youth Action Squad. We’ll keep you updated with other activities and promotions the group will be taking part in.

Netsafe resources

In the next few newsletters we’ll be highlighting some excellent whānau resources for staying safe online. The first of these is the Online Gaming Whānau Toolkit which “is a practical and straightforward seven-step framework to help parents whose tamariki use devices to play games and with digital parenting generally. The downloadable version of the Toolkit offers easy-to-understand practical tips that will help you talk to your child about online safety, focused explicitly on online gaming” – Find the toolkit here
