In a proud and historic moment, Aotearoa New Zealand has reclaimed the Guinness World Record…
Travelwise week is a chance for Springs-Waiōrea to focus on promoting sustainable and safe transport. We are a sustainable school, but we need to keep improving the choices we make regarding transport.
The Travelwise panel ran a range of events over week 6 (Mon 29th May- Thurs 1st June). Students could get help with their bikes one lunchtime from a bike mechanic. Fruit and lollies were given on Wednesday morning to students travelling sustainably. We had a milk tanker onsite for students to learn about the vision truck drivers have in order for them to ride in the safest positions on the road (https://sharetheroad.org.nz/). Whānau classes got to learn about the impact transport choices can have on emmissions. And we finished the week with our annual Skate Ollie, and Bike Bunny Hop competitions.
Congratulations to our winners
